Note:Thanks for your comments on my last story. This is another story which i wrote last December.I am posting it as v day fast approaching.I dunno how many amongst us really value that day. Here is the story. It tells a kid's views on v day. Happy advance v day to all.

Rahul was so happy to see his uncle home. Aman was the only existing relation to Rahul. They both loved each other so much. Usually Rahul used to come soon from school and he would be waiting for his uncle to come. But today Aman was already home.

Rahul's excitement doubled when he saw his uncle in a new outfit. "Uncle, are we going out somewhere?” Rahul asked enthusiastically.

"Yes, you get ready. We are going to Anjali aunt’s house".

Anjali, Aman’s best Friend, his colleague. She was living very near his residence. Rahul was happy and asked," why uncle? We usually used to go to aunt’s house only during weekends, right?”

"Yes, my boy. You are right. Today I am going for my blind date and u going to be at Anjali’s house till I come back and pick u up". While saying this Aman could see the excitement fading away in Rahul's face.

"Why can’t I come with u for your blind date?” Rahul asked. Aman couldn’t hide his laughter. He told Rahul what a blind date really meant. As every boy of his age, Rahul had questions for each and every word Aman explained him.

Rahul asked, "What's so special about this day that is making you go out and have coffee with a gal whom u never knew?”.

Aman was astonished and tried to give him some answer. “See my boy. Today, Valentine’s Day and going for a blind date have become a custom these days for someone staying single ".

From the expression in Rahul's face, Aman knew Rahul understood nothing. He thanked god for this and told Rahul to ask Anjali aunty if he wanted to know something more.

Aman dropped Rahul at Anjali’s place, waved bye to both of them and started for his blind date.

Rahul wanted to know what that day really was about, he started asking Anjali too.

Anjali started explaining him about Valentine’s Day. She first explained him about the history of Valentine’s Day. Once she finished it, Rahul had a question, “so this day is only for lovers?"

Anjali never agreed with this, even she and Aman once had an argument over it. According to Anjali, v day is just another chance for everyone to show how they love their beloved.

She thought at least she could explain the significance of the v day to the small boy.

Anjali said," It’s not like that Rahul. It’s a day for friends; it’s a day for family members. It’s a day for parents to show how much they love their children".

"So aunty, is this the day of love? Why is it then uncle said he is going to have coffee with a gal she never knew? "

"It’s like getting acquainted with new people Rahul, But I don’t know when your uncle will stop this idiotic blind date and stuffs", Anjali added.

Few hours passed, Rahul was playing in the balcony when he noticed his uncle coming back. Anjali who was working in the hall saw Aman and his worried face; she couldn’t hide her laughter and asked sarcastically,"What my friend? Your date dint like your coffee I suppose".

"You just shut up Anjali", Aman cried, who seemed to have a bad date.

Rahul came running to Aman and asked him 50rs. As Aman was already vexed that day, he started scolding at Rahul. Anjali came forward to support the boy.

“Why are you scolding the boy? What will he do if u dint have a nice day" Anjali said.

Aman realized his mistake, called Rahul near him and hugged him. Rahul again asked Aman for 50rs. This time Aman dint say anything, he took out 50rs from his pocket and gave it to Rahul.

With out a minute’s hesitation, Rahul grabbed the 50rs and started running outside. Aman couldn’t understand what Rahul was doing.

Rahul came back home with three coffee cups and some chocolates and placed everything on the table. Aman still couldn’t understand what Rahul was doing, while Anjali knew, but she waited for the boy to speak.

"Anjali aunty said this v day is the day to show our love to our beloved” Rahul passed.

“I love you both”.

Rahul raised the cup and said,”Happy Valentine’s day”
