What a way to start with... IPL....

Friday, April 18, 2008

First innings started with the tremendous batting by kolkata tigers, i cant say everyone in the team batted. Bcoz it was just a one man show. Brendon mcculum.. THE man of the night... Took the game away from the Blore team.. The bowlers of Kolkata proved "HUm THoDa be cum nahi hai".. though I missed the live telecast of the match, Cricinfo's ball by ball commentry made me imagine the whole match as though i am watching the match straight away in the stadium .. This is the best... GO IPL GO....
Kolkata opened their account tally with a massive win...

Juniors.... have a glance if you have time..

HI juniors,

AS i said, he are few tips.. i can give to get good marks in sem.. I scored reasonably good percentile in first and second semester so i think my tips will be useful for u all.

I think most of u will have this fear, First time v r going to write the exam, how is it going to be?

Hear me; you have passed out twelfth itself in flying colors, then y worrying about Anna university exams?

Here and there i am leaving some tips. (Have your own style of writing, i mean don’t be monotonous like most of the girls using three colors. decorating the paper all)

Frankly speaking, My exam paper will have only blue pen(which i used to write obviously) and pencil, which i used to put line as a separation between two questions.

Ok. i am coming to the point. .

  • Always read the syllabus book fully

  • There are many chances of having a question or two out of syllabus (not always really, but fortunately I got in first sem, which will fetch you attempt marks... :) )

  • Maths: refer the syllabus book... Most of the sums will be from book only. So better go through all example sums...

  • For physics and electrical also the same, I mean problems will be from book only. Regarding the conceptual papers, giving examples will fetch you more marks. IF there is a block dia or dia for a question, you should be drawing it.

  • Just think, the examiner will not be having any time to sit and read all that you have written in the paper. So if u had drawn a diagram, he will automatically give you more marks.

  • Concentrate more on two marks, if u get good marks in part –A section, you will be getting above 12 for each question in part-B.

  • For theory subjects, side headings are very much important. Try to break the questions into points and write. Engineering graphics,hmmm.. there is no need for me to tell about this subject, You would have been familiar with perspective, Isometric and free hand sketches… These are easy and will fetch you full marks,

Hope my tips are useful for you all. All the best … come out with flying colors..

South africa inflict innnings defeat

This test match everything fell in place as i predicted,Match over by the third day. Thanks to (dhadha)Gangully for scoring 85,if not there would have been another 76 run innings..I think i was also right on the predictions about sewag's batting.Indians have to learn a lot from this test match. They failed in all areas, batsman failed to put up a decent score, bowlers failed to take quick wickets. In fact it was a good pitch.Anyways lost is lost. Hope v win forth comin matches. All the best for the team,

South africa unstoppable.. Yest bajji reported to press saying, "a bad first day for india,v need to forget this and get along with the game". Now i get a doubt, i think what bajji told is the game plan of india in this test match. OMG!! how can he leak out the game plan?? so india going to forget all five days and totally this test match, if it continues they got forget this test series itself. "i have got enough runs in a single test match, ill be in the team for next ten years", hope sewag is not playing in this framework.WIll india fight back??Lets wait and see.

Coming to the protest by tamil actors.I think its really a good thing to come forward and protest for a good cause.(for the welfare of tamil people in karnataka). Hey man, whats happenning here?? if india is not safe for an indian where will he go?Hope our kannadian friends, give up their attitude towards tamilians. Hope peace prevail everywhere for the generations to come..

What Nirmal Ram Means

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

A Different Experience

Saturday, February 16, 2008

I guess its general knowledge that we, NCC guys bunk classes so often (I can see flame coming out of your stomach: p)

In this camp which is being conducted in our college premises, we will remember the left right left only when d seniors pass. Other times it will be pure fun. But today it turned out to be something different and special.

NCC sir handpicked some four of us along with some other NSS cadets to distribute pamphlets in a village to educate them about ‘Kuppai Poda Thadai’ court order. We thought it was going to be a phoo-phoo job going around the village and giving out these pamphlets. But we were totally wrong.

It was a pathetic scene that met our eyes when v went deep into the village..

Imagine the scene-drainage open and flowing in the roads, streets full of smelly garbage, and a foul smell in the whole atmosphere. Imagine the plight of the people living there. we found it so so difficult to stay there for just 5 mins with out covering up our noses. but those people live there. Their place of living. How contrasting to our well ventilated (or air conditioned) sweet smelling bedrooms!!!

That’s the other side of the coin..

When we gave the neatly printed pamphlets to those village ladies they couldn’t even read it. They asked us as to what it was all about. as we started explaining that its about the order prohibiting the dumping of the garbage in that area, they became so emotional and hailed us high saying that its only thru us that something cud probably done to save that village from this unaddressed issue.

While this is d reaction of d ladies, there were few ‘elite’ crowd who questioned us as to how v r going to go about doing this Herculean task. We were actually stumped. the job given to us was to distribute the pamphlets n so v honestly had no clue as to what to answer to these question. so escape!!!

After covering the entire village, v targeted the people walking on d roads n thus v journeyed on d road to tambaram.

we decided on d policy of ‘divide and cover’ we divided the whole place and each one of us distributed the pamphlets in d area assigned to us.

Finally the effectiveness of our division of area was acknowledged by the fact that a man came to us and gave about ten posters back to us saying he has had enough posters (we have covered the same area so many times- effectiveness of our division of work..!)

Then the most awaited job of the day- eating…we had our lunch in vb tambaram. the meal was splendid although I missed our coll ‘bisibelabath’ badly.. lols!!!

then at last when we reached coll it was almost 3.30. we entered the campus and god bless everybody! Students started pouring out of the coll.

Yippie!!!!!!!!

so we hurried to the NCC room and we were out in a jiffy wid our bags and off home…

no no.. wait wait..

I hurried to the bus with a happy feeling of being the first one to reach the bus. ulla vandhu paatha… already there was my friend sitting in that corner seat of mine puncturing d bubble of that contented feeling.(cha they never allow me to b first in any thing!!!!)

seri po nu pakathu seatla ukkarndhu nalla thoongitu veedu vandhu sendhen…

so that was my day today.

I wish I could do something more for that village!!!!

Rushed inside the bus to get the corner seat which he usually hated. He looked around to identify some of the familiar faces. Things has certainly changed. Microsoft Offers $44.6B for Yahoo

Microsoft has come up with an unsolicited takeover offer of $44.6 Billion in its boldest bit to challenge the Google Inc. The surprise offer of $31 per share, made late Thursday and announced Friday, seizes on Yahoo's weakness while Microsoft tries to muscle up in a high-stakes battle with Google likely to define the technology landscape for years to come.In a statement Friday, Yahoo said it will "carefully and promptly" study Microsoft's bid. "This is a decision we have -- and I have -- thought long and hard about," Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer said. "We are confident it's the right path for Microsoft and Yahoo."In a letter released Friday, Ballmer pointedly noted"A year has gone by, and the competitive situation has not improved".The fate of Yahoo's brand also is unclear if Microsoft takes over. Both Ballmer and Kevin Johnson, president of Microsoft's platforms and services division, hailed Yahoo's strong brand value but didn't commit to keeping the name alive.

Today:

The day of coll after the semester results will always have mixed emotions. Today was one of those days. students asking for marks, congratulating there friends, cajoling there friends. giving support to their pals who haven't scored much. Today we had this seminar on .NET by TCS. It was actually scheduled as a two day seminar, But due to some reasons, it just lasted for some two hours. To say the truth it would have been quite informative for those who know C# or .NET. We students know neither, it was like Greek and Latin for us. We managed to sit there all through the session.

Gilli retires:

One of the finest sportsman, wicket keeper batsman's last day today. He announced his retirement officially. When i heard him speak in the press meet, i was so impressed. He said, " I realized that i started moving slowly when i dropped lakshman's catch, This is the reason for my announcement". What a sportsman he is! The guy who replaces Gilli will be in trouble for sure. Lets wish him a good life outside cricket. Long live his fame.

Blogging:

I am so new to this world of blogging. I had visited so many blogs and i started writing it only after i saw a debate on blogging in NDTV. Now there are more than million bloggers and i am proud to be one among them. Though not many people visit my blog except few of my friends, I enjoy blogging. I feel like a journalist while analysing or writing about something. Many of our college seniors are having some wonderful blogs. I came across AMIR KHAN's blog a few days back. It had everything which will make u interesting. Soon ill post the links of some wonderful blogs which i keep visiting frequently. The technology has risen to such a height that Reliance has already introduced mobile Blogging.

Something new:

As few of my friends suggested, i like to make my blog more
interesting for the visitors by putting some technical questions or puzzles in the blog. And the Winners will be declared the THE HERO OF THE DAY. Please do leave some suggestions for making it more interesting.

Thought for the day:
The Most time you will have to spend in your life is with yourself. So make yourself as interesting as possible. :)

Today v were asked to attend a seminar on JAVA net Beans in vani mahal t.nagar.We had a jolly one hour ride in our college bus to the venue. In bus there was a great game of antakshari between boys and girls. Though the truth is boys only won :), i cant say this publicly( ill get some nasty comments if i say) girls gave a good fight. On the whole we enjoyed the day. coming to the seminar... Sri Nidhi from Sun Micro systems presided over the seminar and gave a lecture on Java and net beans for about an hour. (Though it was very tough to concentrate on Whole of the seminar) We did grab up some points he had quoted in his seminar. Some like

  • How Java goes with participitating and sharing?
  • We learned about the Database application that is coming up with JDK6.0.
  • One of his questions made me really think what i am doing?
He asked how many of us are members in the technical communities and how many of us are members in friendly communities like orkut?
He did say some of the technical communities like JCP.ORG , NETBEAN.ORG, JAVA.NET.
At that moment i too thought of checking out these sites. ( At that moment only :) )
